Christmas 2019
Burlington, Ontario, Canada
to
Malvern, Pennsylvania, USA
We decorated our Canada house for Christmas, made ornaments, baked Christmas cookies (which were safely transported to Malvern for Santa), turned our house into Santa’s workshop - lots of making and wrapping! - wrote to our Elves to ask if we could bring them to Malvern, crossed the border several times with gifts, Tetris-ed our car to fit all the clothes and gifts in, forgot the Elves (but they found us anyway!), and spent a wonderful three weeks celebrating Christmas with family and friends.
Jack just turned 9, Maria is almost 8, and Danny is 4.

Everyone was so excited! The children were awake by 6:30, raring to go. Poor Poppy had the flu for the past 4 days, but managed to come downstairs for a bit. The Christmas tree looked beautiful, Santa had found us and as the children joyfully and incredulously told us, “He wrote back! Santa wrote back!” My heart was so full… my parents had made room for us in their homes and hearts, we had brought memories of Christmases long gone back to them, and facing a mountain of presents, our children were most excited to give - the gifts they had made and the ones they chose for each other.

Sweet things to remember:
Christmas hieroglyphics, homemade presents and wrapping paper, our first White Envelope Christmas, and beer and cookies for Santa, who wrote back!
