The Merlinis Visit Canada
Nana, Aunt Lauren and I hatched a surprise plan… the Merlinis and Nana would come up to Canada, but we wouldn’t tell Jack, Maria and Danny until we “ran into them” at Niagara Falls- what an awesome surprise!
Sadly, I don’t have any pictures of that first moment, but it was FUN! While we strolled along the waterfall viewing area, the Merlinis jumped out and took us by surprise. Everyone screamed and hugged and it was so exciting.
Niagara Falls
While at Niagara Falls we HAD to do Journey Behind the Falls- it’s a must if it’s your first time visiting. The tunnels underneath the falls are cool, but the best part is the viewing area. We got soaked!
Glue Guns
Nana is known for saving things that could be useful someday. She traveled 400 miles/7 hours with a box of “stuff” so the children could create. She may not know how to cook very well, but she’s Annie Oakley with a glue gun.
Rock Glen
We took a drive to Rock Glen, which is known for a waterfall and fossil hunting. The fossil are 350 million years old – that’s before the dinosaurs! We found lots of brachiopods, which look like angel wings. After fossil hunting, we hiked down the waterfalls and took a swim!
Museum of Illusions
Our last big thing to do was the Museum of Illusions in Toronto. Our family had visited before, but we knew Kevin, Tess, Tommy and Francis would like it!
Nana’s Birthday
While we were together, we celebrated Nana’s birthday!
I’m so happy the Merlinis could come visit us! Next time we’ll have to get Uncle Kevin up here too, because we missed him. We love you, Merlinis! Thanks for the visit and the memories!
